Just to let you know how the TCM project is developing. I’ve used the initial sketches which I posted previously to create large scale linoleum prints as a foundation for 3 film posters, the layout has developed from the artwork being framed by space to an aggressive crop of the face; the dirty and distressed print making techniques work as a visual metaphor for the characters’ qualities in the films.

*Update* Rather than post similar images again and again, I have replaced the images in this post with the final posters. Changes included manipulating the prints for more dramatic composition, refining the artwork used to remove some blotches and scratches in the paper, slightly muting the background colours and finally changing the layer blend effects so that the black ink is retained rather than absorbing some of the background colour – which previously made the whole image appear to be in the wrong hue.
